Nate graduated from MACCRAY High School and was a Cum Laude Finance graduate from University of Minnesota-Duluth. He and his wife Jaime have been married for 21 years and have five children: Lily (19), Nora (16), Elias (16), Ruby (14), and Oliver (12).
Nate is the also the managing partner for Hultgren Holdings. He serves as chair on the board of directors for Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative and is past president of the American Sugarbeet Growers Association. He is also on the founding board for the West Central CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) program at MACCRAY/KMS/RCW/Central Minnesota Christian Schools.
Farm activities include input purchasing, crop marketing, operations planning, planting, Meadow Star Dairy/CY Harvesting grower coordinator, capital budgeting, cash flow forecasting, FSA Programs, kidney bean harvesting, and corn drying.
Nate is an Excel spreadsheet "nerd", and his professional areas of interest include employee involvement programs, FieldNet (the farm's historical agronomic practice correlation database), branding, and decentralized management framework.
Away from work, his interests include fantasy football, golf, running, and movies. Guilty pleasures? Dr. Pepper and pizza rolls.
Noah graduated from MACCRAY High School in 1998 and earned a Sales & Marketing degree from St. Cloud Tech. He and his wife Paula have three children: Ella (17), Samantha (15), and Hannah (12).
Noah is a real estate broker for Fieldstock Realty. He is past president of the Minnesota Corn Growers and is on the Kandiyohi County Corn & Soybean Growers board. He also serves on the Bethesda Foundation board.
Noah's areas of responsibility at Hultgren Farms include seed selection, fertility management, crop protection product procurement, and planting, crop scouting, and managing the sugarbeet harvest.
Noah has focused his agronomy studies on no-till and minimum-tillage practices. He is investigating increased use of cover crops and other soil health improvement techniques.
In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, and fantasy football. Noah is also a Star Wars geek.
Duane has been the heart and soul of Hultgren Farms since he started farming full-time in 1972. He has been an integral part of growth that has seen acreage go from 400 acres to 7,000 acres.
Duane has been married to Nancy for 52 years. Together they raised four kids (Nate, Noah, Emily, and Carly). They have 14 grandchildren.
Duane has served on the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative board, NFO board, Raymond/MACCRAY School Board, Kandiyohi County Economic Development board, and currently is the chair of the St. Johns Township board.
He has a passion for cattle, and has taken a "hobby" herd of 20 beef cows in 2010 to 70 cows today. Duane also operates the farm's irrigation systems over the summer and participates in the kidney bean harvest each fall. He has devoted much of his work time to developing wetland credit banks in conjunction with Fieldstock Realty.
Duane enjoys strategic planning, land improvement, and keeping a watchful eye to regulatory overreach.
His hobbies include golf, fantasy football, fishing, hunting, and watching Fox News Channel. All of those go great with a Diet Mt. Dew!
Nancy has been the one behind the Hultgren Farms' books for the last 47 years. She performs accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
She received a degree in English Secondary Education from U of M-Morris. She was a substitute teacher at area schools while raising her family and went on to teach Family Literacy and ESL at Willmar Adult Basic Education for 20 years, retiring in 2017.
Nancy has been involved in various church activities, including teaching Sunday School and serving on committees. Currently she is a member of the bell choir, deaconesses, women's Bible study, and is a volunteer for Kandiyohi County Family Promise.
She enjoys spending time at the family lake home, traveling, gardening and yard work, and being involved with her grandkids.
